Sample collection and preparation
Venous blood
1. Venous puncture to collect whole blood into EDTA-containing anticoagulant tube.
2. Samples collected after storage at 2-8 ℃ environment, can be stored for three days; for longer storage should be frozen.
3. If stored at 2-8 ° C, whole blood samples must be used within three days.
Use a lancet to collect
1. Use alcohol to disinfect blood
2. squeeze the blood with your fingers, disinfect the lancet to puncture the skin, blood collection.
3. Use sterile gauze or sterilized cotton to wipe the first drop of blood.
4. Capillary contact blood.
Experimental steps
Test cards, buffers, samples, and controls must be brought to room temperature before use. (15-30 ° C)
1. Add 5ul whole blood to the sample well "s".
2. Add two drops (about 80ul) of buffer as indicated by the arrow.
3. 20 minutes to read the experimental results.
Result explanation (please refer to the diagram)
1. Plasmodium falciparum positive
The simultaneous color development at "C" and "1" indicates that P. falciparum is positive.
2. Plasmodium vivax positive
Simultaneous color development at "C" and "2" indicates positive P. vivax.
Plasmodium falciparum and Plasmodium vivax are positive
All three test lines appeared, indicating that P. falciparum and P. vivax are both positive.
Negative reaction
Only the control line appeared, indicating that both Plasmodium falciparum and Plasmodium vivax were negative.
The experiment failed
Control line did not appear, indicating that the test failed to re-test.
